All the latest scoops
Monday Bakery. Closes both locations.
Sources say that another coffee shop may take its place...
Winston's. Opening a second location!
But it's actually more than that: "Winston's CUP" – Community Unity Project – is a partnership with Napa Health and Human Services and will feature a "work experience program for those experiencing barriers to employment." Opening Oct 1.
Inkwell Story Studio. New Napa business turns your life into a book
But will it have a happy ending...
The "Original" Thomas. It's coming back??
Window permit signage has us believing so. The Derivative Thomas didn't have quite the same ring to it, I guess.
Napa Humane. Pet photo contest!
Submit your photos all month, winners will appear in the 2025 Napa Human calendar!
Hal Yamashita. A(nother) new location!
Can't nobody hold Yamashita down! Hopefully opening Sept 9. It's way down by the DMV -- but so is the new Winston's... and the new Costco... hang on, what is going on!?
Color Theory. Art store reopens as canvas and paint shop.
These guys are dedicated and tenacious! I love it! They're the Hal Yamashita of paint!
Canary Coffee. The Napa Bookmine's cafe has a new look
Ohhhh because it's in a MINE, like canary in a coal mine! But... why is it the "Bookmine," anyway? Whatever, aren't you just so glad we don't have a bookstore that's like, "the Book Vineyard" and "the Sour Grape Cafe" or something?
Oke Poke. Grand opening September 7!
I feel like we have announced this 14 times. Just me?
River Club. Monthly Sundowner Hours.
Drink and watch the sun set over the river.
Goodspring Motel. The Chablis Inn's glow up
I have never used that expression, did I do it right?
Pacifico Pizza. Mysterious bakery opens
Near Habanero's, on Avon Ave by the outlets
Moveable Feast. Closed? (at least implied by LoopNet)
Ghosted by the ghost kitchen. How do we start a petition for the return of Miminashi?
La Taberna. Building for sale?
Apparently the hottest goss is gleaned from real estate listings. But what does this mean... discuss.
Wine Country Airporter. SFO shuttle returns to Napa
Wait, this happened back in May? Curses! All the parking fees we could've saved...
Karma Lounge. Re-opening... soon
No panic, all disco. Napa's "premiere" dance and night club is returning. Looks like Morimoto Asia has some competition...
Over the Hill
Sausage Emporium (Sonoma). Closing
Restaurant closures are the wurst.
El Milagro. Mexican joint opens in Healdsburg.
I wish it were aquí, it's a little too allá for me. Maybe we should call this whole section "allá," that's fun.

HACK OF THE WEEK
Pliny at Lawler’s Liquors
Everyone knows Lawler's. Obviously, you know that they sell cheap sandwiches and huge portions of spaghetti. That is NOT the hack, okay? Neither is their vast amaro selection.
The hack is that Russian River's brews are cheaper at Lawler's than anywhere else: $5 for a Pliny.
But wait, there's more: Lawler's has all kinds of less common Russian River brews. If they don't have something you want, and you are super nice about it when you inquire, you might be able to get them to order something special.
